What is Out of the Blue?

Out of the Blue is a powerful browser based document, file and image archive repository. Built using standard Microsoft Technologies it is an intuitive, easy to use and convenient method of storing and retrieving files, records and images.

Out of the Blue has been designed to be deployed in two scenarios, an “online” hosted solution or an “in-house” solution.

Out of the Blue – Online Storage

The on-line solution is a secure web hosted repository, with the servers located in a ‘state of the art’ secure co-location facility. Secure access to the https (256 bit ssl) UR is restricted to authorised users.

All users issued with a unique user name and password and include various features. You can view, edit add or delete items. Audit Trail. Searchable PDFs. Version Control. Easy to use.

Out of the Blue – In-house

Based upon the ‘online’ product, Out of the Blue resides within your LAN/WAN on your own web servers. In addition to the Out of the Blue online benefits:

•   Out of the Blue uses your own active directory, thereby allowing single sign on to the Out of the Blue application

•   Create your own profiles of documents for access by authorised users

•   Out of the Blue can be linked to other databases you may have with index data from your legacy systems

•   The repository can be ‘hidden’ from a legacy system and ‘called into action’ via the delivery of a URL of the requested file, record or image from the legacy application

•   Out of the Blue can be enhanced to utilise version control or work flow to your requirement

The Benefits of Using Online Storage

Based upon the ‘online’ product, Out of the Blue resides within your LAN/WAN on your own web servers. In addition to the Out of the Blue online benefits:

ImageStor will manage the databases for each individual department.

There is no limit to the number of images stored online – it’s based on the number of users.

Word Files can be added.

Colour scanning is offered with Out of the Blue with the same file size as black and white images.

Misplaced files are suddenly found!

Free up internal server space.

Updates to files can be made by the client or at ImageStor’s bureau.

Minimum numbers of users is 4. These can be spread across departments.

Simply log-on from, anywhere in the world.

Clients own the PDFs and the hosted service is utilized for as long as the client wishes.

All maintenance costs are included in the monthly rentals.
